I read through the "Publishing a Blog with Blogger" book's first five chapters and started into this assignment. As I sit here typing, my wife is running the vacuum, my three year old is screaming at the top of her lungs because she doesn't want to go to bed, and our dog, Lady, disturbed by all of the noise, is looking up at me from the inside of her kennel, "the box."
Fast forward 35 minutes...peace. Our child is asleep and the dog and my wife have gone to bed. I'm hoping I'm not far behind.
Now that I've broken the ice, though I may be a graduate student at Boston University, I'm a Navy Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9) at my core.
I've been in the Navy on active duty since September of 1988 and am now at the top of the enlisted ranks. The plan is to stay Navy for another ten years and retire with 30 years of active duty service.
I've been stationed on board two types of ships. The first one was a Knox class frigate, the USS Thomas C. Hart (FF 1092), on board March 1990 - September 1993, and the second was an AEGIS destroyer, the USS Carney (DDG 64), on board December 2001 - September 2005.
I've lived in Sicily, Italy on the lower eastern slope of Mount Etna and in the Middle East in Bahrain.
My travels have taken me to every continent on the planet minus Antarctica and have visited dozens of countries. I'm in need of a flight or voyage that will take me from the west coast of the U.S. west to Hong Kong to complete my circumnavigation of the globe.
